One of my main tasks for Amazonas is to go into local schools and have workshops with the students. The first time I went to a school was to hold the Intercultural Workshop.
I went with my roommate, another ESC volunteer, Tamar from Georgia and we both prepared a presentation about our country. She began with Georgia and I followed with Germany. It was a really nice experience sharing our own cultures with motivated students from another country that is so relatively close yet so different in terms of food, culture and nature. We had a blast, and it was a really fun experience which we ended with a little Kahoot Quiz about our countries before we left.

Other than that, I also did two different activities in school about Mobility for youngsters.
With that workshop, I aimed at the possibilities that young adults get within the EU. It was surprising to see how unknown most of the options were even though they are a great alternative for people who maybe struggle with money but still want a nice experience in an ESC project or to study abroad through Erasmus.
The idea of these projects is to give all people across Europe an equal chance to participate regardless of their wealth. These projects are also a big help for the cultural understanding between all the different countries, ethnicities and cultures. We want our Europe to be inclusive were no one is left behind. That’s why it’s so important to promote these projects. Only that way we can keep holding and improving our status as an open-minded continent. So, I informed the young adults about everything they needed to know regarding student exchanges, European Solidarity Corpse, Erasmus + program and even about the Discover EU pass and Interrail ticket, which are great opportunities if you just want to travel for a shorter time and not spend like 6 months or more in one place.

So far, I can say that workshops in schools have been a big success.
Both times there were kids that seemed to be really interested in the topic, so I hope I motivated some to take the chance and do one of the projects. As long as only one person is convinced it already is one step nearer to the goal. I really enjoyed both kinds of workshops and I am looking forward to having more like these in the following months.
