support for youth

We provide psychosocial support to youth at risk through the project “Moje snage – razvoj psihološke otpornosti mladih” (My Strengths – Development of Psychological Resilience in Youth). We are also the authors of a program for the development of social skills in youth and a manual created through the project “More than Sport.”

Moje snage

The project “Moje snage – razvoj psihološke otpornosti mladih” focuses on raising awareness and empowering personal resources, as well as developing prosocial behaviors in youth at risk. This contributes to the development of psychological resilience, which can help youth in their daily functioning, improve relationships with others, and better cope with various challenges, particularly prominent during this life period. The project was based on a community needs assessment and information obtained from partner organizations.

Key activities of the project include:

  1. Individual counseling for youth
  2. Group empowerment and development of social skills
  3. Training for professionals from partner organizations

Partners in the project include the Croatian Social Welfare Institute, the district office Trešnjevka, and the Home for the Education of Children and Youth in Karlovac.

The project is funded by the Central State Office for Demography and Youth.

More then sport

The “More than Sport” project is an initiative of a small strategic partnership funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ program. The project was jointly conceived by partner organizations Amazonas and Empoderar. The aim of the initiative is to promote the inclusion of youth with fewer opportunities by empowering and developing socio-emotional skills through sports and physical activities. As part of this initiative, the project team has developed a manual for conducting workshops (intended for professionals working directly with the target group).

The initiative arises from the need to create effective tools for working with youth, considering sports as an effective way to engage the target audience. The overall goal of this project is to create a structured program for professionals working with youth with fewer opportunities.

The project started in November 2022 and lasts until April 2024. The implementation manual for the program is available in the educational materials section.
