About the Project
The YMWB – Youth Mental Well-Being project aims to strengthen the capacities of professionals working with young people, with a special focus on supporting marginalised and vulnerable youth. In a time of rapid social change, more and more young people face challenges related to emotional regulation, stress, mental health, and lack of community support.
This project responds to those needs through international cooperation between Portugal and Croatia. Together, partners will develop a comprehensive training programme and a practical manual on emotional regulation for youth workers, freely available in English, Portuguese, and Croatian.
Project Objectives
- enhance the skills and knowledge of youth workers, teachers, mentors, and other professionals working with young people
- develop guidelines and practical tools that promote emotional regulation and mental well-being
- support marginalised and vulnerable youth in building resilience, managing emotions, and strengthening social skills
- encourage international exchange of knowledge and good practices among organisations working with young people
- strengthen inclusion, quality, and innovation in youth work, in line with Erasmus+ priorities
Planned Activities
The project includes the following international and national activities:
- Kick-off meeting (Portugal)
- Development of guidelines for emotional regulation in youth
- International training for trainers – Portugal
- International training for trainers – Croatia
- National dissemination events (Portugal and Croatia)
- Final meeting (Croatia)
Expected Results
The project will result in the creation of a high-quality, practical manual for youth workers, stronger professional capacities in emotional regulation and mental health, and the development of a sustainable transnational framework for supporting young people. By improving the competencies of professionals, the project will directly enhance the well-being of youth, especially those from vulnerable groups. It will also increase the visibility of mental well-being topics in local communities in Portugal and Croatia and leave a lasting set of tools and knowledge accessible to organisations, schools, and youth-focused institutions.
