Body for Empowerment of Youth
Project coordinator: Društvo Nega Zemlje in Duha (Slovenia)
Partner: Amazonas Association (Croatia)
Programme: Erasmus+ KA2 – Small-scale partnerships in youth (KA210-YOU)
Project duration: 25 November 2024 – 24 November 2026
About the Project
The Body for Empowerment of Youth project focuses on strengthening the capacities of youth workers, educators and mentors who support young people, especially those facing vulnerability, marginalisation or social exclusion. Young people today encounter emotional challenges, stress, instability and limited opportunities for positive personal development.
The project responds to these needs by introducing body-based, experiential methods as tools for self-expression, emotional regulation and empowerment. Through cross-border cooperation between Slovenia and Croatia, partners will develop and deliver practical learning formats that use movement, embodiment and creative approaches to help youth workers more effectively support young people in their personal growth.
Project Objectives
- enhance the competences of youth workers through body-based and experiential methodologies
- promote emotional regulation, grounding and resilience among young people
- support vulnerable youth in strengthening self-esteem, communication skills and social connection
- encourage innovative, inclusive and holistic approaches in youth work
- foster international cooperation and exchange of good practices between Slovenia and Croatia
Planned Activities
The project includes the following activities:
- Kick-off meeting (Slovenia)
- Development of a toolbox with body-based methods for youth work
- National capacity-building workshops for youth workers
- International training for youth workers (Slovenia/Croatia)
- Local pilot workshops with young people
- Final dissemination event
Expected Results
The project will result in a practical and accessible toolbox of body-based methods for youth workers, as well as strengthened professional competences in using movement, embodiment and experiential tools in youth work. These improved skills will directly enhance the well-being, self-confidence and emotional stability of young people—particularly those who are vulnerable or marginalised.
The project will also increase awareness of holistic approaches to youth empowerment in local communities in Slovenia and Croatia, leaving behind a sustainable set of methods and knowledge for organisations, schools and youth professionals who wish to integrate embodied practices into their regular work.
