Get Involved
At Amazonas, you can take part in many different ways — as a local volunteer, international volunteer, or through our education and training programs.
Learning Opportunities for Young People and Youth Workers
If you’re a young person, you can join us through Erasmus+ youth exchanges and European Solidarity Corps international volunteering programs. Develop your skills, learn new languages, and gain valuable life experiences.
If you’re a professional working with children and young people, you can participate in our training programs and mobility opportunities for youth workers — such as Erasmus trainings in Croatia and abroad. You can also use our developed educational materials or volunteer in the field of psychosocial support.
Local Volunteering
Volunteers are a key resource in our social support programs. Volunteering positions are open to students and professionals from helping professions (social work, social pedagogy, psychology, pedagogy). Available volunteering roles include:
- Learning Support – If you’re a student in a helping profession, you can volunteer to help elementary school children with their studies at the start of each school year.
- Group Socio-pedagogical Work with Children – If you’re a senior-year student in a helping profession and enjoy sports and group activities, join our team in working with children. After gaining experience, you may also join our team of trainers and professionals.
- Counseling / Psychotherapy – If you’re a graduate of a helping profession and/or in psychotherapy training, volunteer to support vulnerable groups. Counseling and therapy are provided for at-risk youth and parents.
- Volunteer Mentors – If you’re a young person or graduate in social sciences and interested in youth work, become a mentor to our European Solidarity Corps volunteers. English fluency is required. Mentors support volunteers during their stay abroad and help guide their learning process.
All volunteers receive professional supervision in psychosocial work and ongoing training for professional development.

International Volunteering – European Solidarity Corps
As an accredited sending and hosting organization, we actively participate in the European Solidarity Corps program, which enables young people to volunteer abroad or in Croatia.
Amazonas runs long-term solidarity projects where international volunteers lead language and creative workshops for youth. We have also been sending volunteers to various European countries for many years.
Read our volunteers’ stories in the ESC Experiences Blog section.
