One of our tasks in Amazonas is the promotion of youth Mobility in the European Union to ensure a proper education of young people in Croatia about their Opportunities.
Due to that goal, we visited schools in Zaprešić and Jastrebarsko where we presented the different Programs of the EU to Highschooler in the age between 17 and 18. The Presentation covered the Program of Discover EU and Interrail which showed the students that with just a little bit of luck or a smaller amount of money many people have the opportunity to see something from the world. Especially at this young age its cool and important to discover some new cultures to build up an inclusive and open-minded mindset which will help us in our Goal to make Europe a welcoming Place. Later in life many people won’t have the opportunity to have experiences like that.
One other Program point was the Erasmus+ Program and the European Solidarity Corpse. In this part our French and Georgian volunteers talked about their experience in the program so far and what kinds of experiences they were able to have thanks to the program. Students were invested and from our experience we can say that these topics are not known enough. We showed everything from the criteria to take part in the application process to make the learning experience as long lasting as possible. Thanks to the short and easily understandable Erasmus+ segment, we also presented an opportunity to experience Europe without spending a lot of money or ‘losing’ a year instead of going to university.
In conclusion we can say that these activities have been a win, even if we informed only one kid it would still be a step in the right direction, and with how invested the students were we probably motivated some people to apply for one of these programs and take part in this great opportunities we have in the European Union.
