Can you make it better? Depression awareness

Depression/feeling depressed

Introduction

Hello everyone!

We are starting now with a new topic for the following weeks, and today I want to explain to you what Depression is and at what point it could become a concern in your life!

As a result of the long-lasting pandemic and all its restrictions a lot of people may experience a lower mood which is understandable.

Symptoms

Symptoms can include feeling sad, anxious/panicky, more tired than usual, trouble falling asleep, anger, frustration, feeling low on confidence or self-esteem, a feeling that makes one self-conscious and unable to act in a relaxed and natural way or a general loss of interest that you usually enjoy. Other symptoms can be not getting any enjoyment out of life, feeling hopeless, not being able to concentrate on everyday things or having suicidal thoughts or thoughts about harming yourself

The symptoms do not mean that you have depression it can be very normal to feel that way, but if it holds for a longer period of time, and you feel that it negatively affects your life, you should maybe talk to a trusted person and see it as a sign to look after yourself and your mental health.

Since we are living through a pandemic this is very common to experience, but there can be a way to make it better 🙂

Next Friday I will share some advice that could help you feel less depressed.

Until then, I found a quote that you can hold on to 🙂

“Give yourself another day, another chance. You will find your courage eventually. Don’t give up on yourself just yet.”–Someone
